First Trip Out Of Bangkok

Well, teacher orientation has been fun and all but this weekend is a long weekend and after work today all of the teachers are peacing out of Nonthaburi.  Tonight we are heading by bus to Kanchana Buri then starting on Thursday we will be travelling to the boarder of Thailand and Burma with many, many stops along the way.  I'm sure that on Monday I will have lots of exciting things to post about the trip.  Everyone have a safe weekend and pray that we all do as well.  God bless.

Long Live The King

To Thailand the king represents all that is good in this country and this year he is celebrating his sixtieth (60th) year of reign.  You can only imagine the amount of celebrating that is going on here in Thailand each and everyday by a country that absolutely adores this king.  But the king is truly a good and upright man bringing aide and knowledge to all of his country men and women.  This man has done so many amazing things for the people of this country.  Yesterday I, along with the teaching staff at GES, had the privilege to go to an expo regarding all that the king has done during his reign.  It was really gnarly to see everything the king has done to improve this country and to see the genuine love and respect of his people as they passed through the expo along side of me.  Another amazing thing about the expo is the fact that the royal princess as at the expo looking at the displays paying the utmost respect to her father.  It really was amazing to see.  LONG LIVE THE KING.

The Hair Is GONE

Yesterday I decided to to take a step out in faith and cut off my hair.  Let me tell you a Thai hair cut is NOTHING like you have ever experience in North America.  I mean all I got was a cut (mind you it was a lot of hair) and it took at least forty-five minutes with three people working on it (sometimes all at once).  I guess they enjoying cutting foreigners hair because it is so different then what they are use to day in and day out.  It was definitely done with the utmost precision and a total of three different hair washes.  All of this tender loving care and for the low, low price of $2.50 US.  Oh, and lets not even go into my hair cutting team...

A Life Filled With Constant Change

So in Thailand one must learn to be quite the adaptor.  Things change here, literally, from moment to moment, something that I am definitely not use to growing up in North America.  But not everything changes for the bad, actually most things seem to change for the better.  Well with all that said school was suppose to start on June 1st then June 5th and now it is not starting until June 14th.  I don't know about what you think about that but I think that's pretty stinkin' amazing.  Anyway's, thanks to all of those FEW people who have responded to some of these random posts making me think that someone would actually enjoy reading these, lol.  Everyone stay safe and God bless.  Until next time...

1 Week Since I Arrived in . . . Paradise

Well, today is my one week anniversary since I arrived in this beautiful country.  There has been a lot of boring teacher orientation meetings so far this last week but other then that this country is absolutely amazing.  I have really fallen in love with the people of Thailand as they are by far the kindest people I have ever encountered in my life.  Though the language barrier is quite difficult sometimes you find out quickly that a smile and a laugh goes a long way with these people.  I have another half week of orientation and then a few days off before school is suppose to start on June 5th.  The ministry opportunities are endless in this country and I pray that these people will be able to see something completely different in my life, not that I'm a crazy foreigner, but that I have the love of Christ Jesus spilling out of my life.  Please pray for the people of Thailand as the harvest is plentiful but the labourers are extremely few.

P.S.  If you have anything you want to know about what I'm doing or about Thailand in general let me know!!
